Minutes for April 8, 2025 SCC Meeting

The Free New Mexico (FNM) Party State Central Committee (SCC) called a meeting to order at 7:06 PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Present at the call to order were the Chair, Vice Chair/Secretary, Treasurer, and the Affiliate, Outreach, Communications, and Legislative Directors.

The agenda was:

  1. Allocate funds for outreach to state fair, etc.
  2. Update on FEC situation from Treasurer
  3. Presentation by Austin Martin from the Libertarian Party of Hawaii
  4. Discuss and possibly allocate funds for updates to online membership form

To begin the first item on the agenda, the Chair gave the floor to the Outreach Director. The Director outlined several events for potential outreach, including the South Valley Pride Day and the State Fair. The SCC discussed various possibilities for operating at these events, and eventually decided to allow the Outreach Director to put together a budget for future discussion and approval.

For the second item on the agenda, the Chair relayed information about attempts to contact the FEC regarding the possibility of negotiating or contesting the fine. After some discussion, the due date of April 23 made it necessary to allocate the necessary funds during this meeting. The Chair moved to allocate $1536 for payment of the fine. The motion passed after a roll call vote, unanimously.

Next, Austin Martin from the Libertarian Party of Hawaii gave a presentation about methods for outreach and promotion of State affiliates. He answered some questions and the Board discussed his recommendations.

Next, the discussion moved to the last item on the agenda. The details of regaining the ability to edit WP Forms on the website were outlined by the Secretary. The Affiliate Director volunteered to take a look at the website and confirm the Secretary’s opinion that it would be necessary to re-subscribe to WP Forms in order to make the necessary changes. The Campaigns Director also expressed that she might be able to recommend a person to make the necessary changes to the website. The Chair began a motion but withdrew it upon discussion; it was deemed reasonable to wait for the Affiliate Director’s investigation before allocating funds.

Finally, the Chair made a motion to adjourn. The motion passed with no objections. The FNM Party SCC adjourned the meeting at 8:29 PM.
