The Free New Mexico (FNM) Party State Central Committee (SCC) called a meeting to order at 7:03 PM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Present at the call to order were the Chair, Vice Chair/Secretary, Affiliate Director, Communications Director, and Outreach Director.
The agenda was:
1. Treasurer’s Report
2. Approve proposed minutes from previous meeting
3. Planning for Convention
4. Update on Legal Situation from Chair
The Treasurer was not present, so item #1 was skipped.
The Affiliate Director moved to approve the proposed minutes from the January 8, 2026 meeting. The motion passed without discussion or objections.
The Legislative and Fundraising Directors joined the meeting.
The Chair moved to set up a committee for the convention. After some discussion about state law, applicability, and potential candidates, the motion went to a roll call vote. All present voted in favor, but the Communications Director was having connection problems and was unable to cast a vote.
After some discussion, the Fundraising Director made a reservation for the Central and Unser library from 2 PM to 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Plans were made to meet at a nearby food truck an hour before that reservation.
The Vice Chair/Secretary agreed to head the committee, with the Chair and Fundraising Director helping out.
The Chair then explained his recent meetings with legal counsel and other related parties.
The Affiliate Director had to leave the meeting due to a time constraint near the end of this discussion.
The Chair concluded his explanation and moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed without discussion or objections, and the meeting adjourned at 8:29 PM.
