TThe Free New Mexico (FNM) Party State Central Committee (SCC) called a meeting to order at 7:11 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Present at the call to order were the Chair, Vice Chair/Secretary, Treasurer, and the Campaigns, Outreach, and Legislative Directors.
The agenda was:
1) Report from Outreach Director re: State Fair findings
2) Legal update re: Secretary of State from Chair
The Outreach Director began by reporting on her findings about additional costs and requirements for setting up a booth at the State Fair. A large number of costly requirements were not advertised clearly on the website and the Outreach Director listed them. There was some discussion, and the Treasurer made a motion to cancel the State Fair booth plans and unallocate the $500 assigned for that purpose. After some discussion, the Chair moved to amend the motion to remove the unallocation of the funds and leave them allocated to Outreach in order to deal with arising contingencies and opportunities for outreach on short notice.
After some discussion, that amendment passed unanimously by roll call vote. Then, the amended motion (cancel State Fair plans, convert $500 allocation to Outreach into discretionary funds for any short-notice outreach opportunities) passed unanimously by roll call vote.
The Chair then reported on the situation with the LNC legal support and the letter to the New Mexico Secretary of State. After some discussion, there were no motions forthcoming, but the Chair agreed to keep in touch with LNC legal.
The Chair then opened the floor for any ideas from the Board. After some discussion, there were no motions forthcoming. The Chair then moved to adjourn. There was no discussion or objection from the rest of the Board. The motion passed without objection, and the meeting adjourned at 7:53 PM.
