The State Central Committee (SCC) of the Free Libertarian Party of New Mexico (FLPNM) convened at 5:34 PM on July 26, 2023 for an official meeting. Present at the start of the meeting were the Treasurer, who called the meeting, the Secretary, the Legislative Director, the Communications Director, the Affiliate Director, and the Fundraising Director.
The agenda for the meeting was:
- To discuss the steps for electing a new Chair
- To ensure all members of the SCC have access to their official email accounts
- To discuss handling of the party’s website
- To discuss ballot access and the meeting with the LNC, to be held later that evening
At the request of the Treasurer, the Secretary called the meeting to order and opened the floor for discussion of the issue of electing a new Chair.
During this discussion, at 5:39, Mike Blessing joined the meeting, and at 5:42, the Vice Chair joined the meeting.
While an attempt was made to get the Campaigns Director access to the Google Meet, the SCC temporarily shifted to the second item on the agenda. The members who had been having difficulty with their official email received assistance.
The discussion then shifted to the third item on the agenda, regarding handling of the website. The Secretary explained the current situation. The Vice Chair then made a motion to get in touch with Rhett Trappman to see if he is still available to help with the website. The motion passed with a show of hands, 7 in favor, none opposed. The Treasurer volunteered to get in touch with Rhett.
The Board then returned to the issue of the Chair. The Vice Chair made a motion to call a meeting at 7 PM Sunday, June 30th, 2023. The motion passed by a show of hands, 7 in favor, none opposed.
The floor was opened for nominations and the Communications Director nominated Rudolph Kohn. Discussion of other possible nominees continued. Further nominations were held until the night of the election. During the discussion, the Outreach Director joined the meeting at 6:15 PM. Scheduling issues were discussed, with the intention of setting a time for the meeting that as many members of the SCC could attend as possible.
The Vice Chair made a motion to cancel the Sunday meeting and move it to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 7th, 2023. The motion passed by a show of hands, 8 in favor, none opposed.
Finally, the Vice Chair moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed with a show of hands, 8 in favor, none opposed. The FLPNM adjourned this official meeting at 6:21 PM.
